Neve is the fastest Elementor Theme that I have tested so far. In terms of performance, it beats even comparable themes like Astra and GeneratePress.
The excellent performance is also achieved, among other things, by not using jQuery. Neve uses vanilla Javascript to avoid any render-blocking resources.
Extra Tip: Two of the total nine requests are related to loading Google Fonts. By hosting the fonts yourself (which you should do at least in the GDPR area), you can further optimize Neve's performance.
* The performance test was carried out with GTmetrix.com. The Theme was activated on a WordPress Multisite subsite together with the plugins “Elementor” and “All in One WP Security”. After the Lighthouse update, the new GTmetrix tool also includes the TBT (Total Blocking Time) and CLS (Cumulative Layout Shift) metrics in the report. However, since both metrics were zero for almost all tested Themes, the overview includes the figures “Requests” and “Page Size” from the Waterfall Chart. The table shows the best result after repeating the test 3-5 times.
